BLACK LIVES MATTER

To my people , I love you .

As a black woman this subject is more than personal for me . Antiblackness is alive in everyone & everything globally. The effects of antiblackness seem to know no bounds & its face is always in our view . Although surprising & appreciated I cannot reward or praise non-black people for what they should be doing. I cannot thank someone for treating us like people , & advocating for us to have basic bare minimum human rights because we SHOULD already . The fact that we even have to scream from the rooftops and protest on our knees that black lives matter, the fact we even have to tell anyone & demand to be seen & treated as people & still in 2020 .. is more than too much for me . Rest in Peace & Power to all victims from 1619-2020 .

Queen of Sheba Costumes 1959

Costumes designed by Ralph Jester  Although I am constantly disgusted at hollywood’s infamous erasure of KNOWN BLACK WOMEN historical figures & their obsession of replacing them with mediocre incomparable counterparts , the costumes in this movie are beautiful .  I certain sure Makeda’s original garb put these costumes to shame. But nevertheless take a look below.  For more images scroll through :  HERE
