Costumes designed by Ralph Jester  Although I am constantly disgusted at hollywood’s infamous erasure of KNOWN BLACK WOMEN historical figures & their obsession of replacing them with mediocre incomparable counterparts , the costumes in this movie are beautiful .  I certain sure Makeda’s original garb put these costumes to shame.
