DIY: TRENDLOVE: Lucite Heels

Lucite heels have come back in a major way the last few years , re-surfacing in mainstream popularity early 2014. One might think with their seemingly futuristic look they are a trend created fairly recently, but , they were in fact a staple of the silver screen starlets of the 50’s & 60’s . Hollywood’s glamour goddesses of the time would glide around on & off the camera in these stellar styled heels .

I personally have always wanted a pair since childhood when I saw Marilyn Monroe in them during a scene in How to Marry a Millionaire. Lovely to grow up & eventually have shoes of this style ready available for purchase .

I have compiled a *picture-list of heels inspired by this style to add to any wardrobe , take a look below ⬇️

Queen of Sheba Costumes 1959

Costumes designed by Ralph Jester  Although I am constantly disgusted at hollywood’s infamous erasure of KNOWN BLACK WOMEN historical figures & their obsession of replacing them with mediocre incomparable counterparts , the costumes in this movie are beautiful .  I certain sure Makeda’s original garb put these costumes to shame. But nevertheless take a look below.  For more images scroll through :  HERE
